BLOOM WHERE YOUR PLANTED
I often find myself reflecting on where I am in life, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There have been seasons of joy, where everything seemed to flow effortlessly, and seasons of hardship, where I wondered if I would ever see the other side of the storm. Through it all, I’ve come to realize something profound: I have never been growing wild. I have never been in a place by accident. I have been planted, by the Lord, for a purpose.
Life can feel random at times. We find ourselves in places we never expected, in circumstances we never planned, and around people we never imagined we’d meet. But nothing is wasted in God’s hands. Just as a gardener carefully chooses where to plant each seed, ensuring it has the right soil, sunlight, and water to thrive, God has placed each of us exactly where we need to be to grow.
Every journey starts with a seed. Tiny, seemingly insignificant, and buried deep within the soil, the seed is hidden from the world. It can feel lonely in that place, waiting for something to change.
I remember times in my life when I felt hidden. Times when I wondered if anyone saw me or if what I was doing even mattered. Maybe you’ve been there too, working tirelessly in a role that feels unnoticed, loving and serving without appreciation, or waiting for something to take root while nothing seems to be happening.
But the seed isn’t forgotten. It is planted. And there’s a difference. A wild seed, scattered by the wind, may sprout by accident. But a planted seed is placed with intention. It is covered with soil, not to be buried in despair, but to be prepared for growth. The darkness isn’t punishment; it’s the necessary first step in the process.
God plants us in places where we can develop strong roots before we ever see the first signs of growth. He nurtures us in the unseen places, strengthening our character, teaching us patience, and refining our faith.
Roots are the unseen foundation of every thriving tree. Long before we see branches stretching toward the sky, roots are growing deep into the ground, anchoring the tree so it can withstand the wind and storms that will surely come.
I think back to the difficult seasons in my life, times of uncertainty, loss, or waiting. In those moments, I wanted to see growth. I wanted to see movement. But God was working beneath the surface, growing my roots to withstand future storms.
Maybe you’re in a season of waiting, wondering when the breakthrough will come. Maybe you’re facing a trial that feels too heavy to bear. But what if this season is about growing you beneath the surface?
What if God is deepening your faith, strengthening your trust in Him, and preparing you for something greater than you could imagine?
Psalm 1:3 tells us that when we are planted by God, we are like a tree by rivers of water, yielding fruit in our season. That means there is a right time for everything. The roots must come before the branches. The foundation must be strong before the fruit appears.
Then comes the moment when the seedling breaks through the soil. What once was hidden begins to grow upward, reaching for the light.
This is where we start to see the fruit of our faithfulness. Doors open, opportunities arise, and we begin to understand why we had to go through certain seasons. Growth becomes visible, and others can see what God has been doing all along.
But growth also comes with new challenges. A young sapling is vulnerable. It must endure strong winds, harsh rain, and sometimes unexpected drought. I’ve experienced seasons like this also. Times when I thought I had finally reached a place of stability, only to be met with challenges that tested my faith all over again.
Yet, through every storm, I’ve seen God’s hand at work. Because when we are planted by Him, our roots hold firm. We don’t have to fear the changing seasons, because our nourishment comes from the Lord.
A tree doesn’t bear fruit for itself. The apples on an apple tree aren’t for the tree to enjoy, they are meant to nourish others.
The same is true for us. When God brings us into a season of fruitfulness, it isn’t just for our benefit. It’s so we can bless those around us. Maybe it’s through words of encouragement, acts of kindness, or simply being a steady presence in someone’s life.
I’ve come to realize that even the most painful seasons in my life were not wasted. The lessons I learned in hardship have allowed me to comfort others. The strength I gained in my struggles has enabled me to help those who are walking a similar path.
God’s purpose is never just about us. He plants us so that we can grow, and He grows us so that we can give.
No tree remains the same forever. Leaves change color, branches stretch, and sometimes pruning is necessary for continued growth.
There have been times when God has pruned things from our lives, At the time, it was painful. But looking back, I see how every change led to something better.
Seasons change, but the tree remains. And when we are planted by the Lord, we are not shaken by the storms, the droughts, or the shifting winds of life. Our roots are secure in Him.
Looking back over my life, I see how every season, the hidden times, the waiting, the storms, and the harvest, has been part of a greater purpose for me.
I wasn’t just growing wild, and neither are you.
You are planted, not abandoned. You are growing, not forgotten.
If you are in a season of waiting, trust that God is strengthening your roots. If you are in a season of breaking through, trust in His nourishment. If you are in a season of bearing fruit, share it with those around you. And if you are in a season of pruning, know that God is preparing you for an even greater purpose.
