LIFE IS SHORT
Life Is Short
Embrace Every Moment
Good morning and welcome in to our devotion time today. One of the things that I love to do is to sit on my porch in the mornings and watch the sunrise.
Every time I have the privilege of doing that, I am reminded that it marks time and I only have so many of those in my lifetime to take advantage of.
It also marks new beginnings. With every sunrise is the new beginning of a new day so thank God for this day today before you do anything else.
The Bible reminds us of this in James 4:14
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
This verse serves as a reminder to awaken us to the reality that life is short, and every moment counts.
Every day, we are blessed with opportunities to create memories, connect with others, and experience the beauty of the world around us. Yet, in our pursuit of goals, ambitions, and the hustle of everyday responsibilities, we often overlook the significance of the present moment. We may find ourselves postponing happiness, waiting for the “right time” to enjoy life, or thinking we have plenty of time to reconnect with loved ones. But what if we chose to embrace it now instead?
To live fully in the moment means to appreciate the little things—a warm cup of coffee in the morning, the laughter of a child, the vibrant colors of a sunset and of course those birds singing in the trees.
It’s about savoring those simple pleasures that often go unnoticed. When we shift our focus from what lies ahead to what we have right now, we develop the true meaning of being Blessed.
How often do you find yourself distracted by your phone or lost in your thoughts of what needs to be done later, when you’re with family or friends? By being present, we honor our relationships and are able to make lasting memories. Every smile, every conversation, and every shared experience becomes a treasure that enriches our lives.
James 4:14 also serves as a call to action. Understanding the fragile state of life inspires us to pursue our passions and dreams with urgency. It invites us to take risks, to love fiercely, and to step outside our comfort zones. If life is but a vapor, then why not fill it with experiences that ignite our spirits and bring us joy?
Let us also remember that embracing every moment doesn’t mean we have to be constantly busy or pursuing something.
It’s about finding peace in the stillness, taking time to reflect, and allowing ourselves to simply be in the moment.
As we journey through life, let’s commit to living in position and with a purpose.
Let’s prioritize what truly matters—our relationships, our passions, and our well-being. Let’s embrace adventure, seek beauty in the ordinary, and spread kindness wherever we go.
Life is indeed short, but it is also filled with endless possibilities. So, let us rise each day with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit ready to embrace every precious moment. Just as James 4:14 reminds us, let’s make the most of our vapor-like existence and create a life that reflects the beauty and joy we wish to experience. Today is a gift—unwrap it with open arms and start enjoying every moment.
Be Safe, Be Strong, and Be Blessed
Quote of the day:
When you are gone, your loved ones may spend your money and sale your land, but they will always have your memories.
