ONE DAT AT A TIME

One Day At A Time

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Life has a way of pulling us into a constant state of worry about the future. We plan, we prepare, and we strive to secure what lies ahead, often at the cost of missing what is right in front of us. The concerns of tomorrow, our finances, our health, our relationships, and our dreams, can weigh heavily on our hearts. Yet, Jesus reminds us that the key to peace is not in controlling the future but in trusting God and living fully in today’s Blessings.

When we focus too much on what’s ahead, we risk missing the beauty of the present moment. Today is a gift, and once it is gone, we can never get it back. It becomes yesterday, a day that either nourished our soul or was spent in worry.

Each moment we spend anxious about what may or may not happen is a moment stolen from the joy of now.

God calls us to live with faith, not fear. When Jesus said, “Take no thought for the morrow,” He wasn’t telling us to be careless or unprepared. He was, however,  teaching us to trust in God’s provision and to focus on what we can do today. Worrying about tomorrow does not change its outcome, it only robs today of its peace.

How we spend today shapes our tomorrow. If we spend today consumed with stress and fear, we will carry that same mindset into the next day. But if we seek God first, as Matthew 6:33 encourages, He will take care of the rest. Seeking God doesn’t mean we will never face struggles, but it means we will have the strength and wisdom to handle those struggles as they come.

Rather than exhausting yourself over what-ifs, focus on the “what is”.

Nature itself teaches us this truth. Birds do not store up food for months ahead, yet God provides for them each day. Flowers do not worry about how they will bloom tomorrow; they simply grow as they were created to. If God cares for these, how much more does He care for us?

Peace is found when we surrender our need to control what is uncertain and trust the One who holds it all. Each day brings its own challenges and blessings, and our task is to live it with faith, gratitude, and purpose.

So let today be enough. Enjoy the moments, cherish the people around you, and trust that God will take care of tomorrow. Live with the confidence that His plan is greater than your worries. Instead of filling your heart with fear, fill it with faith. Instead of racing ahead in anxiety, walk steadily with God, one step at a time and One Day at A Time.

Because when we live one day at a time, trusting God for what is ahead, we will find that tomorrow takes care of itself, just like He promised.
