IT IS GOING TO TAKE COURAGE
It’s Going To Take Courage
Joshua 1:9
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
The story of Joshua is one of the most inspiring narratives in the Bible, showcasing the courage and strength that God instilled in him. When God passed the mantle of Moses leadership to Joshua, He reassured him with a powerful message: “Be strong and courageous!” (Joshua 1:9).
Imagine stepping into such a shadow as the one Moses cast, leading a nation into the Promised Land! Joshua faced many challenges, from crossing the Jordan River to battling fierce enemies, but his faith in God’s promises propelled him forward.
In a world where uncertainties and challenges try to weigh us down, it’s easy to feel anxious. However, as believers, we have a beautiful source of courage and strength in Jesus Christ. His love and grace empower us to face life’s trials with a joyful heart and unshakeable faith.
It’s important to recognize that our strength does not come from our own abilities but from our relationship with Jesus. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse is a powerful reminder that no matter the challenges we face—be it personal struggles, health issues, or daily goals—Christ is our cornerstone. When we lean on Him, we find the courage that propels us forward.
Courage is not the absence of fear, it’s the resolve to move forward in spite of it. Jesus encourages us to be courageous, assuring us in John 16:33 that says; “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” This promise tells us that we can face our fears—whether they are related to relationships, work, or even spiritual battles—because we have the ultimate victory in Jesus.
One of the most beautiful aspects of our faith is that our weaknesses can become our greatest strengths. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul writes, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This means that when you feel you can’t go on, it is precisely in those moments that Jesus’s power shines brightest. We can approach our struggles, knowing that our difficulties are merely opportunities for His strength to be revealed in our lives.
So how do you maintain courage and strength in your daily life? It starts with prayer, immersing ourselves in God’s Word, and seeking His presence in every moment. Worship, gratitude, and attitude also play major roles in transforming your heart.
When you can focus on the goodness of God and the blessings in your life, You develop a sense of peace that fuels your courage and strength.
Today, remember to put your faith in Jesus. He is your source of strength, and the only One that give us the courage to face the day before us.
