PRAYER FOR ELECTION DAY

Prayer for America on Election Day

Heavenly Father,

As we gather our hearts and minds on this significant day, we come before You with gratitude and reverence for the gift of democracy. We recognize the weight of the choices we face and the impact they hold for our nation and its people.

Lord, Your Word reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. We seek Your wisdom as we cast our votes today. May our decisions be guided by love, justice, and a desire for unity.

We pray for our leaders, both current and those who will be elected. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, we are called to pray for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives. Lord, may those who take office be filled with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to serve the common good.

As we face division and uncertainty, remind us of Romans 12:18, which urges us to live at peace with everyone. Help us to engage in conversations that build bridges rather than walls and to listen with open hearts to those who may see the world differently.

Father, may Your love and grace flow through us as we navigate this election. In a time when fear and anxiety can overshadow hope, let us remember the promise of Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” May we find strength in You and courage to stand for what is right.

Finally, we ask for healing for our nation. We long for a future where understanding prevails over conflict, where every voice is heard, and where we work together for the common good. As we look to the future, let us hold fast to the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, knowing that You have plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future.

In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.
